Why Choose Us

What sets us apart is our scope and influence. We operate internationally and wield substantial bargaining and lobbying powers with international bodies and governments. Our size and stature mean that we are able to coordinate campaigns against multinationals and governments that get results and bring about change.

Future of Work

Digital technologies are being deployed throughout global transport, changing how we work, where we work and who we work for. For Bottax Kenya, the Future of Work is everything related to reducing the negative impacts that new technology can have on workers. The 2018 Congress ratified the FOW as a central plank of Bottax Kenya’s work over the next few years.

This means getting the right understanding of the issues and challenges technology poses to workers across Bottax Kenya sectors. It means pushing for the right regulations to control what technology can and cannot do. It means ensuring that workers’ rights are respected through effective tripartite mechanisms at every level. It means ensuring workers get access to the right training and skills development. Which means developing the right policies. It means providing workers around the world with examples of best practice in how unions have dealt with the challenges posed by new technology. It means working with trade unions across every sector to develop a common strategy and a common approach to the issues new technology poses to all of us.

BOTTAX KENYA OBJECTIVES

  • To secure the complete organization in the Union of all workers employed as operators of Bodaboda, Tuktuk and Taxis within the Transport Sector.
  • To Endeavour to obtain and maintain just and generally to protect        the interests of members.
  • To regulate the relations and to settle disputes between one member and another and between members and other workers, by amicable agreements whenever possible.
  • To provide all possible information, opportunities and facilities for members to obtain further theoretical and practical training without discrimination.
  • To provide legal advice and any other assistance on any matters affecting the Union, and protect the rights of a member or members on matters arising out of relations with their employers, and the government.
  • To co-operate with similar organizations on matters of common interest with a view to common or uniform action whenever necessary or desirable.
